I am fundraising for melanoma research!

A lot of people who are connected with me on social media already know, but I wanted to share the update here. I am incredibly fortunate that I was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic melanoma when I was. When I was first diagnosed, my dermatologist told us "don't Google it." She knew that if we had, we would have seen survival rates based on historical melanoma data. I don't recommend you look them up. If you see late-stage melanoma survival rates from 2010-ish, you'll marvel that I'm even here updating a blog (I know I marvel at that).

Scientific research has gotten us access to the treatments that saved my life, and the lives of many others. Unfortunately, there are still people and cases where they don't respond to the existing immunotherapy options. For that reason, further research is needed. Until nobody dies of melanoma, there simply must be more to learn.

So to support this ongoing research, I am fundraising for, and walking in AIM at Melanoma’s Steps Against Melanoma Chelmsford, MA walk in October. If you are in a place where you can donate, or you would like to share the fundraiser with others, I would appreciate it. If you can't, that's okay too. I appreciate your support either way. Thank you!

And keep your skin safe this summer with a good sunscreen! <3
