second verse same as the first

A bit has happened, so let me start with this weekend. Very early Saturday morning I woke up and got pretty sick (to put it properly: I barfed like I was trying to empty out my toes). Isaac, bless his heart, retrieved my bag of pills and I took my first olanzapine. Luckily I was able to sleep the rest of the night.

But the olanzapine has this super fun list of side effects like:

  1. dizziness

  2. muscle soreness

  3. fatigue

— all of which I experienced to the extreme. I got exhausted going up the stairs. I got tired showering. It hurt to braid my hair. I truly couldn’t stand for longer than a minute or two.

This is utter nonsense and I stopped taking olanzapine this morning. I truly couldn’t live my life with it! I’ll take the nausea. At least it’s fleeting (and I’ll eat my weight in gin-gins).

This morning, feeling better than I had all weekend, I went in for treatment. Well, it was *supposed* to be treatment. But no, not today. Turns out my liver enzymes are even higher today and I have officially entered the Danger Zone. (Maybe this is why I’ve felt so awful!)

Kenny Loggins, you never prepared me for this

I was prescribed prednisone (a steroid) which the doc said should take care of things in the next week and I will go in, yet again, next week. And let’s hope I actually get treatment this time?!?
